The goal of the project of revitalization of St. Michaels’s Fortress by Tomislav Krajina was to contribute to the sustainable economic development of Šibenik and the surrounding region through the development and expansion of cultural tourism, while preserving and valorizing the fortress as an exceptional cultural asset. The specific goals were the renovation and upgrade of the tourist infrastructure, and the arrangement of the fortress as a new cultural center and tourist attraction. As a ­subcontractor of the main contractor Minigradnja Ltd., the tasks of ČERNELIĆ Interior Solutions were the construction and arrangement of the summer stage auditorium with 1077 seats and the arrangement of the underground part of the fortress. A special feature in the furnishing of this venue is certainly the choice of folding chairs by the famous architect duo Herzog & de Meuron, consisting of two of the most significant architects of today, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron.
